It's 1am now and the internet's gone all whack.
Just like it always does at this time.
Oh people why can't you go to sleep early?
So that i could youtube my way into the deep darkness of the night?
Saturday. Hmm.
Another weekly dose of religious knowledge.
Still, i'm left wanting for more.
I really can't wait for umrah.
Though i feel ready and unprepared at the same time.
I don't know what challenges, hurdles or tests that will be put forth.
For only there will there be a lot of those coming at you.
To test your resolve, your strength, your remembrance of the Almighty.
And no, he is not a black man dressed in white, speaking english, telling you to build an arc.
Certainly not your run of the mill hollywood kafir imagination.
This is the real deal.
I feel so new, so pristine to this...thing.
To its ways, views on others and its teachings.
Differ it does from what i've been taught since young.
Sometimes i feel lost, afraid, asking myself what have i gotten into?
But week in week out, familiar faces become even more familiar.
Awkwardness turns to comfort.
Absorbing, nodding turns to questioning, asking.
And there's even a tinge of feeling.
Though after research, its impossible.
I've not really put this Ramadan to full, good use.
Jamming nights, homeclub.
Is that what you're supposed to do during this holy month?
It isnt as if it comes all the time.
Still, it's only the first week.
Hopefully the next 2 will be put to good use.
and the last will justify a year's worth of mangkuling and learning.
I view my brother as a sad disgrace and example to the common Malay teens of Singapore.
Fat, lazy and annoying.
And it makes me sick.
