SINGLISH GALORE!

So the english paper is over. Yes i can start with my over excessive use of singlish now. But maybe i wont use it that much and i feel very comfortable with normal spoken/written english. hehe.

Lets try out singlish. But Im not a very good singlish writer. la. So spare me your comments.

Wah jus now finis the eng paper damn happy siol. I like come skool so damn scared la coz nervous mah. Then see all my fren happy happy like nabeh cheebye like that sia. so i sit down quiet quiet go study format la. I write down in book one la coz i lost my bloody paper Ah Tan give one. Lucky no Ah Tan there sia if not she sure ask hows the paper one.

Paper 1 ok ok la. Damn happy with wat i write la. I tok about some nonsense holiday one. They ask if i need holiday or not i say of course la. Must sit thru all the nonsense the whole year then hear the nag nag nag of teacher one can die la. So i write that then i say i want to work during holi so i can get extra money for icecream la. Haiigen daz one damn shiok. So i talk all the cock la. Jus jam in all the nonsense i think one.

Paper 2 ok ok la can say easier than prelim. I go write like robot sia. write write write no expression one. just go write. hah. Then i see juff all like stress then i say to my head y i not stress. Must stress leh. no stress no shyok one.

So after paper we all stress so play soccer abit la. Drizziling sommor so slippery abit la. hard to run coz scared fall then injured then jailat la for next paper. but i still play then like damn fun la coz long time never play until happy one. i score one but like steal ball one la. just stand there tap in goal oredy. after dat we all go makan at Sfamily restront. near near sakura one but no GST so save $ la. I makan fried cockle kway tiao. Mai ham la. I eat ah then bite then all the what nonsense juice come out taste like shit but still nice la. So i makan makan until damn full then go home.

Ok so thats the extent of my Singlish. Its been a while since ive used it so im not so fluent in my writing but i can really talk singlish. Althought MOE is trying , in vain, to make students speak better english, i really do feel that Singlish is part of the Singaporean culture and that it will can never be replaced nor substituted with other languages. It is one language created by the combination of malay, hokkien, tamil and very very very broken english so we must be proud of it :D

But i dont understand one thing. Why do we, asians, have to try so hard to pronounce english words in their correct pronunciation but Angmohs can just pronounce Asian words in their own way. Example, Durian ( its DU-RY-AAAAN not DU-RY-EEEEN). Or Orang Hutan (Or-AANG Who - TAAAN not Tan as in Suntan). I do feel that we need to be respected through the correct pronunciation of our own words just as we respect Angmohs by trying so hard to pronounce their words correctly. =D
