The Imam during solat just now. During prayer, he cried. I wonder, how was he feeling during that point of time. What captivated him into that kind of emotion. Was it love for the relgion? Was it love for god and the prophet? Was it that overwhelming sense if righteous, peace, calmness and comfort that surrounds one when one is communicating with one's maker. What was it? For i want to know. For i need to know.
I want to know, am I any less muslim than that dear imam. The sing-song way he versed out the prayers. Beautiful yet empowering. Till the point that he himself was overwhelmed. Tears then followed.
I pray 5 times a day. I try to keep to it. And yes i won't deny that i've missed a few, though, not on purpose. But maybe, what makes me less muslim is the attitude. My thoughts fail me. My mouth fails me. My eyes, my ears, my hands and legs. They fail me. Time and again. But who is eventually to blame here? Them? or me.
They say that it's hard to keep up a strong religious front in this society of now. But why do we still have Imams, bilals, uztats and uztazahs and muftis and the rest of the package (no offence to them).
I can say that it's not the time. But maybe would it be too late once i've said this? i don't know. But theres one thing that i do know.
It's that I want to be in that dear Imam's position one day. To be overwhelmed with those emotions. Why? Because i love Islam. I love the prophet. And i fear my maker.
Insyaallah, one day.
When the cousins of the two sides meet, theres bound to be lots going on.
Its 1.41 am in the morning. I must wake up at 5 and be in school by 7. Football. I have work at 5-12. Then i have work from 9-3 on sunday. Followed by more football. Let's see how far you can go Mr Ilham =)
